The Key to True Happiness |

 When many of us find ourselves in-between relationships, the only thing we can think about is searching for someone new, whether it be for another relationship or even casual sex.
Unfortunately, it is all too easy to let that search consume much of our life. The harder you search, the more disappointment you will most-likely find. So what is the answer to finding happiness?
Firstly, you must look for happiness in the right place. Stop depending on someone else, and find it in yourself. How can we even begin to think of being happy with someone else if we aren't happy with ourselves?
Focus on the more important aspects of your life -
Embrace your single life. Use the opportunity to focus on family, friends, career, and hobbies/activities. You will often find that all the time you spend in your relationships only distracts you from so many other things that you may need/want in your life.
Make goals for yourself. Enrich your life with new things. Do something that you've always thought about doing but never took the time. Use your newfound freedom to travel to a place you've always wanted to see, and meet people who live a different way of life. Find new hobbies/activities. Take up a new sport. Start exercising. Host dinner parties. Seek out the education you've always wanted. The list goes on. There are so many things that we desire in our lives, so why spend so much valuable time searching for a relationship, when it will find you on it’s own?
Sure, you will still find yourself becoming a bit lonely at times. You just can’t let it get the best of you! That is often what leads us into making hasty bad decisions, and then finding ourselves back in a situation that only makes us unhappy. Then the process will start all over again.
Now, I’m not telling you to avoid getting involved and stay single. What I’m telling you is that you shouldn’t force the situation. Enjoy your freedom, and let the dates/love happen in their own time. Believe me, they WILL happen. Only now, when you introduce someone new to your life, you will be introducing them to a more stable, activity-rich, and interesting life that doesn’t depend on them. From here, you just have to make sure you don’t lose sight of the new values you have found for yourself.
Every day is a new day and this is the first day of the rest of your life. Enjoy it, and never take it for granted. There is a whole world just around the corner.
